AU Name: Mayoi Ayase
AU Age: 18
Physical Differences: He will not have his distinguishing jagged teeth! That will be a fun thing for him to regain later. Otherwise the rest is the same as canon.
AU History:
The Ayase Clan has been fraught with misfortune for generations. As a small clan of people that were once driven underground as punishment for “weakness”, they toil in the darkness, surviving in exile under the heavy weight of shame and inferiority. This is all they have known for hundreds of years.
Who sent them there is a mystery, and not even the oldest members of the Ayase family can tell you. Their vampire wardens, however, will tell you it doesn’t matter. The weak are simply food for the strong and that they’ve been spared to live in relative peace in return for their blood offerings and bidding is far more than they deserve. This is the life that Mayoi was born into, and until very recently, it was all he knew.
It is not uncommon for them to ve forced to give up some of their own for whatever whims the vampires require of them. Sacrifice, experiments, and sometimes with no explanation at all, will they sometimes see their ranks thinned. However, for the very first time, one of the vampires gathered the entire clan together and explained that they have been granted a wonderful opportunity. One of them will be allowed to leave this dingy hole to become something far greater, thus began the first ever Finding for the Ayase clan.
Mayoi drew that faithful feather and was quickly whisked off, but not before he was told that if he spoke of his background for any reason, he would lose more than just his unlife.
Mayoi has not seen that vampire since, but he knows they must be watching. Is this another cruel game being played on his people by their wardens? Or are there much worse ulterior motives behind this? Did they simply want a vampire under their thumb? Or were they intending to turn him into a worse monster, to mock his lineage? Mayoi doesn’t know, nor is he sure he wants to. One thing, though, is certain, and it’s that all of this stress and terror may be just worth it enough for Mayoi’s first glimpse at the night sky.
(Notes: I had most of this figured out before that FAQ question about how organized the Findings were. If it works for the world building, the vampires that are harassing the Ayase clan could have forged what village they did the finding for, or just made up a village name or something.
AU Personality:
The biggest difference is in canon, Mayoi left his home willingly to become an idol. He made the decision to crawl out of the darkness all on his own. This does change a lot of how he views his situation, and it means that his resentment or ability to cope may be more dire. Everything will depend on the sorts of bonds he ends up making. Not having his memories of his support network back home does essentially mean he's become a pre-canon blank slate. He could thrive in his situation, or he could regress terribly, we will just have to find out.
Another big difference that kind of goes in tandem with the first one, is that Mayoi is missing his huge motivation for pushing forward. Canonly his dream was to become an idol, and it's what drove him to leave his home. Here he is simply trying to maintain a status quo so to not garner terrible consequences. He will need to find his reason to keep going beyond that in the game.

Mayoi is a prodigy, a diligent hard worker, and a meticulous perfectionist who has a near encyclopedia knowledge of folklore and ghost stories. He is someone who's only window to the outside world was books for most of his life. He is sharp, curious, and deeply intelligent and given the right push, he will excel incredibly well in Silver Court.
On another note, Mayoi has always been a support type of person, who fusses and worries over others, and finds a deep satisfaction in looking after thoughts he loves. He will take well to being a healer.
